Ed Brown |
Ed Brown, UK Libraries director of web development, recently co-authored an article published in the peer-reviewed
journal Motivation and Emotion.
The article, a multi-year project of Dr. Richard H. Smith, UK
Department of Psychology, and his lab, encompasses four studies which
examine two emotions, schadenfreude and gluckschmerz, which look at people's
feelings towards others' success or failure.
Specifically, the studies examine how in-group identification in the domain of sports fandom is associated with both emotions. Gluckschmerz (displeasure in another person’s good fortune), is an emotion which is just starting to be studied empirically and is the subject of Ed Brown's research thesis.

It is really interesting for me to read this article. Thanks for it. I like such topics and everything connected to them.
