Tag Heister, Clinical Reference Librarian in the
Medical Center Library, published an article on Alfred Brandon, UK’s first
medical librarian. The article appears
in the fall, 2012 issue of Kentucky
Libraries. Heister notes that,
“Hired prior to the 1960 opening o the University of Kentucky’s College of
Medicine, Alfred Brandon was charged
with building a medical library from the ground up to support the colleges of
medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursing.”
