Photos and video from the UK Sesquicentennial celebration


Over the past week the University of Kentucky celebrated the sesquicentennial of the institution. One hundred and fifty years after its founding, campus played host to a series of events including addresses by leaders in higher education, a student celebration, and a reception for faculty and staff. The Sesquicentennial celebration kicked off with a convocation
of the UK community.


UK Alumnus and Chancellor of the University of Maryland system
William E. "Brit" Kirwan gave the convocation address.

A special cake formed the centerpiece of the
celebration at the Student Center.

Mark G. Yudof delivered the Sesquicentennial Lecture.
