Architecture students present sustainable design ideas at William T. Young Library


Architecture students present their ideas at William T. Young Library.
The Hub at William T. Young Library hosted students' presentations of sustainable architectural design in early December. The UK College of Design’s School of Architecture held a jury of student work from a Graduate Architecture Studio at the Hub on Friday, December 4. The fourteen students in the studio presented innovative, sustainable designs for a new College of Design facility.  UK Student Sustainability Council, a group focused on advancing the theory and practice of sustainability at UK, sponsored the studio.

UPK and UKnowledge exhibit spotlights Black History books

UK Libraries graduate assistant Lori Miller is the creator of a Black History Month slide show exhibit spotlighting books available through a collaborative effort by UniversityPress of Kentucky and UKnowledge.

UPK and UKnowledge offer a large catalog of academic books available for free download by members of the UK community. Miller’s exhibit focuses on books relating to African American history, literature, and culture. The slides run continuously in The Hub of William T. Young Library.


The Black History Month exhibit is viewable through mid-March. Next, The Hub will display exhibits celebrating Women’s History Month as well as Irish culture, also created by Miller.
