Barb Hale, Interlibrary Loan, will retire
from UK Libraries on September 30. A graduate of UK, she began her career at UK
Libraries in 1976 working as a library technician in Interlibrary Loan. She
later served as a library technician, then a librarian, in Government
Documents, before taking a leadership role as ILL head in 1989.
During her career at UK, Barb completed the primary
research on a grant that established the Ariel ILL system in all Kentucky
public universities. She has been active in the Kentucky Library
Association and the American Library Association. Barb is well-known throughout the southeast for her leadership in ILL.
A retirement reception for Barb will be September 29, from 2 to 4 p.m., in room B108C of the William T. Young Library.
