Fundraising professionals visit William T. Young Library

Daniel King led a tour of William T. Young Library
for development professionals.

This week the University of Kentucky held the SEC/ACC Annual Giving Conference, hosting representatives of universities from throughout the region. The fundraising professionals met to discuss effective development strategies, attend panels on new approaches to marketing to alumni, and to share struggles and triumphs from the past year. Annual giving is the branch of fundraising concerned with phonathon, direct mail, and e-mail programs by a university.

As part of the conference activities, the group attended a tour of Buffalo Trace Distillery, a tour of UK’s campus, and a special tour of the William T. Young Library. The development professionals viewed the recently renovated second floor learning space and learned how the renovations were made possible through our successful annual giving efforts. UK Libraries Director of Development Daniel King led the tour.
