Sarah Dorpinghaus participates in Society of American Archivists annual meeting

Sarah Dorpinghaus
Sarah Dorpinghaus, digital archivist in the Special Collections Research Center, participated in a panel discussion at the Society of American Archivists (SAA) annual meeting last week in Cleveland, Ohio. Sarah spoke about UK Libraries’ successful transition from analog to digital-based microfilm reproduction workflows.

As co-chair of the SAA Metadata and Digital Objects Roundtable, Sarah debated Dennis Meissner, co-author of the noted 2005 article “More Product, Less Process,” and incoming president of SAA, on large scale versus selective digitization. This was one of several informative and educational debates held at the Metadata and Digital Objects Roundtable meeting.

Thanks, Sarah, for representing UK Libraries at SAA.
