On Sunday, August 23, UK Libraries welcomed students for the first-ever "Willy T's Loud @ the Library" K-Week event. Hundreds of new students attended the celebration at William T. Young Library. Festivities included food, games, prizes, a dance floor by WRFL, face painting, henna tattoos, palm reading, and portraits by a caricature artist. Games included board games, "giant Jenga," icebreakers to meet fellow students, and "Library Pong" - a ping-pong toss game that took participants around the library to learn about services and important locations in the building. Students left with t-shirts, UK Libraries earbuds, water bottles, and for a lucky few prizes ranging from tablet computers to smartphones. A photo essay provides a look inside "Loud @ the Library."
