A new online exhibit, “Henry Clay: Images of
‘The Great Compromiser,” presents Special Collections images from
significant points in the life of Kentucky’s Henry Clay (1777-1852). The images
include a variety of mediums such as sculpture, paintings, drawings,
watercolors, daguerreotypes, and lithographs. The organization of the exhibit
reflects important stages of Clay's adult life.
Patricia Guardiola, a student in the School of
Library and Information Science who is graduating this semester, designed the
exhibit. This past academic year Patty worked as a graduate assistant in
Cataloging and Metadata in Young Library. She generated this exhibit as a part
of her spring practicum project working with the UK Libraries Special
Collections art holdings. Patty, who has a background in art history, has been
selected as the 2014-15 Kress Fellow in Art Librarianship at Yale University.
