Twanna
Hodge and Raquel Flores-Clemons have begun their internships with UK Libraries. Twanna is an information science master’s
student at the University of Washington and Raquel is in the MSLIS program at
the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign.

Twanna,
whose internship dates are July 7 – August 15, will be supervised by Jen
Bartlett, Head of Reference Services, Young Library, and mentored by Judy
Sackett, Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History. Raquel will be supervised by Megan Mummey,
Collections Management Archivist, Special Collections Research Center, and
mentored by Julene Jones, Head of Database Integrity. Her internship dates are July 14 – August 22.
Other
members of the 2014 ARL CEP Working Group are Laura Hall, Adrian Ho, Stacie
Williams, and Judy Sackett, who serves as the ARL CEP Coordinator at UK
Libraries.
The Career
Enhancement Program, one of five diversity recruitment
programs of the
Association of Research Libraries, offers master of library and information
students from traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic minority groups
the opportunity to gain practical internship experience in an ARL member
library. Funding for the program is
provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and ARL member
libraries, with the goal of creating a diverse research library workforce. Twanna and Raquel bring to 10 the number of
CEP interns hosted by UK Libraries.
