Katherine Elmore presents at Data Driven conference

Katherine Elmore
Special Collections Learning Lab intern Katherine Elmore, a rising UK senior, recently participated in the  Data Driven: Digital Humanities in the Libraries conference in Charleston, S.C.  She presented her research on the Daniel Drake Carter Collection, which she processed and created a digital project for during the SC Learning Lab internship.

The project, which used content-management system Tiki-Toki, comprised a collection of letters and A/V materials detailing the 1870s scarlet fever epidemic in Kentucky. Elmore, a history major, also participated in the conference's CURATEcamp workshop which explored innovative ideas and programs to make archival collections more accessible to both scholars and the public.
