Susan Daole, Senior Library Technician, is retiring after 38 years at the
University of Kentucky and 21 years in the Education Library.
Susan,
originally from Atlanta, came to Kentucky to attend Alice Lloyd College in
Pippa Passes. She holds a B.S. in
Horticulture and a M.S. in Library and Information Science from UK. Susan
worked for the Horticulture, Agronomy and Entomology departments in various
research labs prior to joining UK Libraries. She later earned a M.S. in Library
and Information Science. For several years Susan taught children’s literature as a part-time instructor
in the UK School of Library and Information Science. Her spouse, Joe Miller,
an Associate Professor in the UK School of Library and Information Science, is
also retiring this year.
Susan plans
to spend time gardening, reading, cooking and traveling.
A retirement
reception for Susan will be held Thursday, July 10, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Room
B108C, William T. Young Library.
