Sarah Dorpinghaus attends Archives Leadership Institute

Sarah Dorpinghaus recently attended the highly competitive 2014 Archives Leadership Institute (ALI) in Iowa. The institute is a weeklong immersion program offering the  opportunity for emerging archival leaders to explore archival  theories, skills, and practice. Participants engage in workshops focusing on current and vital strategies for archival leadership, such as new leadership thinking and methods, strategies for born digital resources, project management, human resource development, and advocacy and outreach.


Participants were selected for the 2014 ALI institute based on their exceptional leadership skills and potential, their ability to influence change, a strong commitment to the archival profession, demonstrated professional organizational involvement and service, a collaborative and innovative spirit, and representation and/or support of diversity within the profession. Previous UK Libraries ALI cohort members include Deirdre Scaggs, Associate Dean, Special Collections Research Center, and Dr. Doug Boyd, Director, Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History.
