Students honored for work at UK Libraries

Student employees are a mainstay of operations for UK Libraries. A lunch event on Friday, April 24, celebrated the undergraduate and graduate student workers who staff service desks, shelve books, process requests, and keep UK Libraries running. Organized by Jen Martin and Terri Brown from William T. Young Library Circulation, the celebration included pizza, desserts, and remarks from Dean Terry Birdwhistell, a former student employee himself.

Graduating students chose books significant to them from within the UK Libraries collection. Their names are now on bookplates in the volumes and have been added to the electronic records for the books.

Four students were honored for outstanding work, and their names engraved on plaques placed in William T. Young Library. They are: Brittany Netherton, Roda Ferraro, Joshua Lindsey, and Karaline Wood.

Thanks to all our student employees for their many hours dedicated to UK Libraries. Read more about the students and their book selections.
