Sarah Vaughn selected to lead Education Library

Sarah Vaughn has accepted an internal transfer to be  Head of the Education Library, effective March 21, with an anticipated date to move to the Education Library on April 1. Reporting to UK Libraries Director of Branches, Valerie Perry, Sarah will be responsible for the administration and operation of the Education Library, including library services, collections, and personnel, and for establishing priorities in support of strategic initiatives.  Additionally, Sarah will continue her liaison activities, contribute to an active instruction program focused on subject-related information literacy instruction, and contribute to the reference services in the Education Library.   




Sarah earned a BA in Child Development from Berea College and a master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky with an emphasis in children's literature.  A librarian at UK since 1990, Sarah has served as Distance Learning Librarian, Administrative Services Librarian, and Collection Services Librarian.  Since 2007, Sarah has been an academic liaison for numerous disciplines in the past: anthropology, geology, kinesiology and health promotion, and library and information science.  She is currently the academic liaison for psychology, social work, sociology, and gender and women's studies.

Sarah fills the position to be vacated by Brad Carrington, who is currently the Head of the Education Library and will retire from the university on  March 20.
